S.Nijalingappa Sugar Institute(SNSI)Belagavi by considering the EBP(Ethanol Blending with Petrol) program of Government of India and to develop the technical manpower for understanding Research and Development activities and for ethanol production units commenced post graduation course in Alcohol Technology w.e.f 2023-24 academic year in affiliation with Rani Chennamma University, Belagavi .

This course is of first it’s kind in the state of Karnataka covering fermentation, distillation and brewery areas. Instituteis involved in board of studies for formulating the industry driven syllabus with the help experts, obtaining necessary approval from educational department, GoK and University later on to ensure that PG course started in the institute.

Institute has already created required infrastructure including faculties for conducting the course. So far 14 students have taken admission (20 intake capacity ) and we have already started the class as per the PG program.

Hon’ble Sugar Minister, Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar , Vice Chairman and other Governing Council members inaugurated the PG course on 27.12.2022.
